Q: Are you accepting new patients?
A: We are always welcoming children and adults to become new members of our dental practice.
Referrals from our patients are always appreciated.
If we are ever unable to accommodate a new or prospective patient’s dental needs in a timely manner, we will assist in finding another dental professional who can.
Q: What are your office hours?
A: Our office hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. We have morning and afternoon appointments available. Exceptions include most major national holidays.
Q: What types of services do you offer?
A: We have a team of dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians on staff with very diverse skill sets. As a general family and cosmetic dentistry practice, we offer comprehensive services such as preventive, periodontal, restorative and esthetic services, implant restoration and prosthetic dentures. Tooth extractions are treated in routine cases. Complicated extractions such as impactions are generally referred to one of our local oral surgeons.
As we are constantly advancing our training, we are now offering treatment in Implant Retained Dentures, Orthodontics (braces), Periodontics (surgical gum therapy), and Endodontics (root canals), preventing the need to wait many months or travel long distances for these more complex procedures.
Q: What types of services don’t you offer?
A: Although we are proficient in simple extractions and light sedation, at this time, we do not provide complex extractions and deep sedation services. Upon a thorough evaluation, we can provide you with a referral of these services to a dental specialist who is best trained in each of these areas.
Q: Do you treat emergencies same day?
A: Yes! Time is specifically reserved for emergency care each day. If you are experiencing a toothache, facial swelling or a traumatic injury, we will make every effort to relieve your discomfort immediately.
If you are unable to contact the dentist, you should contact your nearest emergency room or after hours clinic for immediate treatment.
Q: Do you offer sedation?
A: Dental techniques have advanced dramatically over the years. Dental visits are now much more comfortable than years ago.
We use desensitization techniques first, which often times are very successful.
If sedation is required, we may offer a light oral sedative (twilight) to make your visit more comfortable. If deeper sedation (going to sleep) is requested, referral to a hospital dentist or other specialist is recommended.
Q: What if I need a referral to a specialist?
A: After a thorough examination, we may recommend certain treatment be rendered by a dental specialist. We will provide you with specialist information and assist in coordinating your appointments if requested.
Q: Do you accept my insurance?
A: If you have dental insurance, you may certainly use your benefits with our practice. We accept assignment of benefits for most plans.
We are considered an “unrestricted” or “out-of-network” provider. The level of your benefits is determined by a contract negotiated specifically between your employer and insurance company. As a courtesy to our patients, we will submit pre-estimates and claims on your behalf. With a pre-estimate completed prior to treatment we request only co-payments at the time of service.
Our practice is very sensitive to the financial costs of maintaining good dental health and we sincerely strive to offer the most fair business practices and treatment options. We offer education and professional advice regarding all available and reasonable options from no treatment at all, to the best options dentistry has to offer, and let you decide what is best for you and your goals.
We offer a 3% financial courtesy for payment (check or cash ONLY) at the time of service for ALL of our patients as this reduces our billing and administrative costs.
Government supported insurance programs are accepted on a space available basis. Local school-aged children and disabled military veterans hold the highest priority. We will help refer to other providers within the North Country if we are unable to provide treatment in a timely manner.
Q: Do you treat children?
A: Yes! We are very comfortable seeing and treating most children 3 years and older.
We highly encourage early dental evaluation and prevention. Our practice is actively involved in the American Dental Association Children’s Dental Health Month activities.
For any child who may be unable to tolerate restorative dental treatment in a general practice setting, we will recommend a specially trained pediatric dentist.
Q: Which dental products do you recommend?
A. After a thorough examination, we will recommend products that are best for your individual dental situation. We believe in and follow the tried and true recommendations of the American Dental Association. If a product has an ADA seal, that means it has been thoroughly researched and is clinically proven to be effective in what it claims to do and is safe for use as directed. All materials and equipment used in our practice are ADA accepted, and all recommendations for home care products are based on ADA principles.
